Meet Liz Leech

Twelve years ago, in 2008 I began retraining as a Sports Massage Therapist at Kendal college as an alternative career path to my job as a primary school teacher, which I was finding increasingly stressful.

Little did I know then what a fascinating journey I was embarking on that has not only taken me to varied parts of the UK (Brighton, Bristol, Somerset, Edinburgh) but has also led me to explore internally the geography of my own mind and body.

I continued my training at the Jing Institute in Brighton and in 2010 qualified as a Level 5 Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist.

I learnt how to treat a variety of conditions and pathologies in detail; low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis and golfer’s elbow, leg, knee and foot pain and common conditions, hip and pelvis etc until all areas of the body were covered.

It was during this training that I became fascinated by fascia and by 2012 had completed my fascial training with Jing in both “indirect” and “direct” fascial methods.  Then, wanting to improve my knowledge of the body even further, I spent a year studying musculoskeletal anatomy, also in Brighton. I have also trained in Pregnancy Massage and studied Orthopaedic Assessment for Massage Therapists.

In March 2014 I began training with Upledger UK to qualify as a Craniosacral Therapist which I completed in October 2019.  I am committed to continued professional development, as you can see!

Recently, after running my own practice ‘The Body Clinic’ for six years, I was given the opportunity to take over at Queen Street Consulting Rooms, something I relish with great enthusiasm. To have so many varied and experienced therapists under one roof is truly a gift.

The more I have worked and trained with my own and other people’s bodies the more I have witnessed and become confident in the body’s innate wisdom and ability to heal itself given the right opportunities and situation.

I am fully insured and a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and the Craniosacral Society and abide by my governing body’s ethics and code of conduct.

Liz's treatments have been a lifeline in helping move stuck energy and pain. I always feel in such safe, nurturing hands. The treatments always shift things and I often only require one or two to work on a particular problem - Georgia
